IMO, it is because of high expectations, greed and FOMO.

People expect Tesla to be the “Future” and more people started to invest in it. When the share price rise, many people started to feel FOMO and joined in too. This led to the share piece to rise even higher.

Investing in Tesla is like gambling. Tesla do not have a stable profit yet. If Tesla is not able meet expectations in the future, many investors are going to sell, leading to a sharp fall in the share price.
