What kind of long term percentage investment returns (including cash/bond allocation in portfolio) are you expecting BEFORE and AFTER you retire?

When I was on my path of wealth building I am for a conservative 5% in active investing return. I had so much trouble with the daily investing that I thought getting 5% was hard (this gives more weight to having a passive index portfolio) . But that's what I am for.

After retirement, my hope is that I can generate a 5% dividend yield and 3 % growth.

I realize overtime aiming for these targets doesn't work it's refining the process to get better
