How would this be different when looking for stocks for dividend payout / long-term investment?
What would be some useful knowledge for reading the charts when picking stocks (eg. reading on hourly / daily chart / good candlestick patterns etc)?

but the better choice would be passive indexing via ETFs, also (almost) no time to invest needed that way.
