University could be the answer. Whether it's an undergraduate, Master's, or PhD program, investing in your education is one way to give your future career a head start. Many employers favor candidates with a Bachelor degree over others competing for the same job. An advanced degree, such as a Master's or Doctorate, is almost always required for most upper leadership positions!!

At the beginning of the year make sure to have defined goals for your job role, as tangible and trackable as possible. Then regularly check in with your superior to make sure he or she knows you are on track or better even exceeding. This will get you about half the distance.
The second half is enlarge your circle of influence. Look for things you can do for others and especially your boss that shows you are ready for the next step.
At the year end be prepared to show all your results ans how much you have grown as well as what you have done for others to elevate the success of the company.
As a manager I can tell you at least 50% come totally unprepared to those meetings and from the other half many are less prepared than they should to boost their career.
