-for those investors without access to U.S. markets, or a more expensive (= more lucrative) but also less liquid way of the fund companies to offer at a stock exchange that Singapore residents are focused on. customer beware.

Point 1 is really moot though, most brokerages have access to the US market nowadays.
However, note that
Liquidity is very poor
Tracking error is almost certainly worse than US listed S&P 500 ETFs like VOO
