The industry is a very volatile industry so please think carefully if you would want to work in this industry in the first place. If you are unsure you can read up online about the banking industry.

Investment banking is a very volatile and dynamic industry. During good time, you can expect a big bonus, but for the past few years, banking industry are under performing and the salary has been frozen for few years. So its no longer as lucrative as it used to be.

Why do firms that are doing ipos have to rely on big investment banking names like jp morgan, morgan stanley etc.? Can't they just do it themselves as ibs definitely will ask for huge serving fees?
