Depends on which industry you are heading into though.

If you're NTU business who knows how to code, even if you're 2nd lower you can still become a SWE @ 4k+, definitely don't shortchange yourself by only expecting 3.8k.

But if you're going into some other industries, then 3.5k-3.8k is already at the higher end of the spectrum, except for consultanting, and I mean MBB kind of consultanting, or those prestigious MA programs, or investment banking haha. ​​​

Hi Anon! The range you've given is a pretty good estimate and may even be higher than the usual starting pay given the type of degree you have. It also depends on the type of industry and company you're entering. You may check out these links here and here to get a rough gauge of the type of starting pay you should be expecting, and how COVID affects fresh grads expectations. Either way, I think as long as you get a job in this current economic climate with decent pay (At least $3-3.2k) is good enough for now. Hope this helps!
