What is a comfortable, reasonable combined salary for a couple to go about their live in SG? Not extravagant.

At least 10K a month for combined income at least for a comfortable lifestyle -- especially if you have elderly parents & young kids to take care

Depends on lifestyle & whether you have dependents (old folks or young children)

If you don't have dependents, depend on lifestyle - from minimalist about $5K to extravagant about $15K also possible.

It all depends on mindset.

I'd say 4k combined income is a good gauge for husband+wife+3 kids, order in food once a week, vacation once a year, shopping only for essentials, kids in preschool.

If you want good comfort for quarterly splurges (300-1k), order food 2-3x a week, vacation twice a year - then at least 12k would be your gauge.

Aiming for a combined income of around SGD 8,000 per month should give a couple a pretty comfortable life in Singapore without going overboard. there are families living below $2000.....
