What is the process like to go from a smoker to non-smoker in terms of buying insurance.

I quit smoking last September. Here's what my agent is going to do for me.
Essentially you need to wait one 1yr of quitting with no relapse. Take the medical, pass it and let your agent handle.

Hi,
I recently just helped a client to change his smoking status.
Note the time when you quit smoking, 12 months later, let your agent know and (depending on the company), you will need to declare to the company and probably list out the reason why you quit etc. Don't need to do medical check up unless required by the company.
The underwriters will go through. If you are still healthy, the application is rather fast, about 2 days after signing for my client's case.
Hope this helps.βββ
