What happens when shares are held in custodian acct

I have just opened a tiger acct. May I know if I will still receive notices from companies when action is needed such as to reinvest dividends or receive them in cash as well as rights issues. How does it go? Also, I am buying reits for passive income during retirement. In view of the long timeline, is it advisable to do this thru custodian acct or shd I pay more to use a brokerage where my shares are held in my name with CDP? Thanks.

brokerage will often ask u you want to recieve scrip or want get cash as dividend.
Normally i will get cash, (default usually cash, if u ignore them)
is ok to use custodian, CDP transfer dividend direct to your bank, custodian transfer dividend to your brokerage, u just need to manually transfer to your bank.
