What happens to bto application (applied under MGPS) if one parent passes away before we get the house?

Managed to get a good queue number for the Nov BTO with my fiancé and parents under the MGPS. However the problem is my dad is in poor health and we worry if anything happens to him before we even get the flats in 5-7 years, according to the T&Cs for MGPS, it states that if parent(s) passes away and the remaining applicant is ineligible to continue with application, both applications shall be cancelled and any monies paid will be forfeited. Any advice on how lenient hdb will be with appeals?
