What financial advice do you usually receive but often disagree with? Colleagues often come together during lunch to talk about random stuff in their lives and often, bad advice is given (imo)

Buying a car regardless of the type saying things like is cheap or affordable if you share if with you partner/family. BS, car is an instant liability.

My pet peeves will be:

1. Spending for the sake of hitting the minimal spending of credit card for the bonus; one don't earn 3 % more cashback, one just wastes a few hundred dollars more.
2. Get more credit cards all for different spending purposes. Honestly, can one spend so much on each credit cards and get all the bonuses?
3. Crypto bull advice. Look at FTX, BlockFi, Binance and you can guess how reliable and trustworthy they are.
4. Government will take care of you when you are old or broke (via CPF I supposed?)

BTO early when young. waiting time increase, can slowly earn money to cover the downpayment

Not using credit cards to pay for things because it somehow magically helps you save money.
