Fires that started in your home (the insured dwelling) are covered under the basic benefits. Depending on the plan, the sum assured can go up to $200,000 for buildings and $60,000 for contents in your home. You can refer to this brochure by Sompo for the full breakdown of the benefits.
In the case of smoke damage caused by a fire that did not spread to the insured home, it will be considered as accidental damage, which is only covered under the Enhanced Home Cover and not the Standard Home Cover.
Sompo Homebliss also provides coverage for smoke damage from a cooking unit.

In case of a fire, Sompo HomeBliss helps by covering both direct fire damage and smoke-related damage to your home and belongings. They offer services like cleaning, repairs, and replacement of damaged items, including electronics, furniture, and appliances. The compensation amount is based on your insurance coverage and the value of the items affected. For example, if your Voopoo Argus A Pod System Kit http://www.thevapetown.com/product/voopoo-argus... was damaged due to smoke or fire, it could be included in the claim if it was part of your insured items.4o
