What do you think of SGFinDex ?

No matter how good it sounds I will stay away. the last thing i want is for any social workers to know all my financial details under one roof. there was once, a social worker commented to another saying what social benefits my dad has. i was alarmed. the other kept quiet. i didn't give them permission to access my dad social benefits. yet they have a naked view of all his benefits.

I believe no social worker would be able to access your data through SGFinDex. If they somehow know of your dad’s data without you consenting to it, it might have been an unauthorised access and you could seek clarification or/and report it.

Anyway, regarding if this tool itself is useful or not, I would say no for now. The idea behind it is very good I must say. Having all your financial assets in one place would allow you to get a quick glance of your financial state. However, I already can do this with an excel sheet (although not automatically). And for now, SGFinDex only has some banks on board. For this to work really well, they would need more financial institutes on board. Like for now I have stocks with a certain broker that’s not on board which means I’m not able to include the data automatically. So basically it’s easier if I use my own excel sheet.

But I’m very excited of this technology. With more improvements, it would be a powerful tool for individuals like me 👍🏽
