What do you think is the biggest investing mistake which most don't realize, and are guilty of? (:

As the saying goes...We don't know what we don't know. (Or is it... we only know what we know) hah!

I might be doing something wrong (e.g. bad practice, bad habit, bad technique...etc.) but still not realize it - what do you think is the biggest invisible sin in the world of investing? Enlighten me please!

#1 not being aware of high fees.

1.4% per year management fees for Unit Trusts / Mutual Funds seem low, but in reality are terrible and per se often lead to underperformance

#2 trusting mainstream finance advisors that don't objectively talk about conflicts of interest. they try to sell their own company's Unit Trust / Insurance products. be very careful

#3 single stock picking and market timing
