Singapore is a fairly small market, with no natural resources.
Having to work in Asian and EU, i observe that the SG employments seem to be more vulnerable to economic crisis in term of
1. More reliance on MNC and foreign investment including tourist, less local conglomerate that contributes to own ecosystem.
2. Employees >45 y.o have slight disadvantage in job hunting when compared to cheaper graduate, (in-flux of) foreign workers.
Any insight from those who have oversea exposure?

Feels like a "grass is greener on the other side" kind of scenario. For Bruneians, Singapore is a good starting point to look into when considering for an outside job as people are already struggling to find jobs here. Relatively speaking, there's a lot that Singapore have to offer and ways to generate employment.
Similarly, Singaporeans may also feel that SG is inadequate compared to other places like Japan, EU or US. It all comes down to perspective and where you want to harness your energy in finding or generating employability.
