You can earn some income while you take courses on the side to upskill. Learn some organisational/administrative skills too.
You don't have to make a career of it, I think there are short contracts available. Or take on a DXO position?
Also, after some years in service, you might get an opportunity to go for studies as part of your route-of-advancement.

Depends on your diploma! Don't fret about entering university right away. As Alfred says, working experience is hugely important. Consider finding an entry level job and working your way from there. Opportunities to further your education will come, be it part-time studies or mid-career upskilling. Keep up the hustle!
