I would like to earn some side $$ from home aside from my career/studying. But due to COVID-19, my parents has told me not to do part-time (retail, admin, etc.). So any jobs that I can earn some $$ (not survey) at home?

Hello! I think that if you are looking for a side hustle to get some cash in the long term it is worth investing in taking a course on some in-demand tech skill like Digital Marketing or App Development. It is not an immediate solution but I think that it makes much more sense in the long run! Singapore is currently encouraging upskilling for all citizens which means that there are currently many courses available that are eligible for claims. (aka free or very affordable!) I found this article quite useful so maybe you can check it out and consider!

If you have a niche skill, you can also design a course around it and put it up with platforms like Udemy or Coursera etc. There is a lot of upfront effort involved, but if you do it right, the money / royalties will come in the years to come as well!

Here are some good part-time jobs for you to earn extra income for yourself:
1. Freelance Writing
Easy and low-stress way to earn extra income. You can work anywhere, anytime. If you write well, you can make good side income. Good content marketing agencies (basically content writing companies) will charge $400-600 for a 2,000 word article. See this comprehensive guide on making money with freelance writing for beginners.
2. Amazon Niche Site
Another writing job but this time you're writing for yourself, not other companies/individuals. You write reviews on products sold on Amazon, and you earn a commission everytime someone buys a product after clicking your link. Niche sites usually take about 4-6 months before you begin generating income; it's not uncommon to make $500-$3,000/month with niche sites. See this guide on how to start an Amazon niche site.
3. Web Developer
You can create websites for companies. You don't necessarily need to know coding. You just need to be good at using Wordpress (which isn't hard to learn), so you can structure the site with plugins or functions to meet client demands. Average freelance web developers will charge $3,000 to $5,000 for a site; more complex jobs will usually start from $7,000 to $8,000. Do note that there's a fair amount of customer servicing you'll need to do after you handover the completed site, so factor that into your income/effort calculation. See this guide on being a web developer.βββ

I would recommend based on your situation.
1) Copywriting
Since you're starting out, you can find job requests on Carousell, Gumtree, etc. Just search copywriting. Use it to build your portfolio.
2) Digital Marketing
Similar strategy as 1) but you need to put the time upfront to learn Photoshop, After Effects, Premiere Pro, etc.
3) Coursera
Selling your knowledge on Coursera, etc. It will take a lot of time upfront to film yourself but it will generate monthly income regularly and you can sit back and watch your efforts pay off.
4) Dropshipping
Difficult especially since market is saturated now but you can explore this option.
5) YouTube
Ad revenue is lucrative but you need to build a strong viewership and have a niche you are passionate in.
Good Luck!
