Hello. I am a 33 y/o foreigner working in Singapore. I already have a health insurance provided by the company I am working for but I have concern that it may not be adequate due to my existing condition. Is it normal to have additional health insurance as additional health protection?
Thank you very much.

Hi there, in Singapore the laws do not mandate that the companies cover employees 100% for their medical fees. So its very common for people to get their own private insurance even if it overlaps with their employee benefits. Depending on the pre-existing conditions, some options may not be open to you, but you can refer to the comparison chart here for and reach out for assistance https://plannerbee.co/best-integrated-shield-in...

Hello! It also depends on what kind of coverage that you will like to get as health insurance does not necessarily just comprise of hospitalisation coverage but includes other aspects such as critical illness as well. However, like what Cherie had mentioned, depending on the pre-existing condition that you have, some options may not be available for you. Hence, it will be better if you reach out for assistance after doing some comparison or you can just reach out to a financial consultant to explain it to you :)
