We spent 10-20 years to raise our kids from baby to teenager. We trained them to be independent. At one point they are fully independent. They don’t need your time anymore?

Isn't it awesome to get back some of your freedom? I can't wait for the day when my children don't need me so intensively

Yup and that is a good thing no? It is time to spend on yourself and with your partner now that the kids are no longer in your nest.

But more than often, I think your kids will come back to you for help with grandkids or something. So parenting is a lifetime commitment regardless of your kids' age.

I work in a SPED company, and some children needs their parents' time and attention forever. Which is sad in fact
