Hi everyone, i am 32, engineering dip holder. Just sharing/finding some advice/guidiance on career path..
Some background:
I spend 7 years in my first company, precision parts manufacturing doing some project/process management. (stamping, molding, etc)
Salary from 1.9k -> 3.1k (technical role)
Current job, 2 years in, electrical machine manufacturing.
1 year - manufacturing engineer -> 'promoted' into planner role + engineer role (execution to delivery)
3.6k -> 4.1k (non-technical role)
Current company going through management change.
Generally, I have a can do attitude, willing to learn. Which is why I am pushed into current dual role. But company culture is difficult with all the taichi and stress..
Trying to get out of current company due to inproportionate responsibilities vs salary.. Ideally, want to increase my income to 5k+, no need to be immediate but in the next 1 to 2 years.
Thinking about getting into quality/logistics/data analytics role as I am currently somewhat exposed to.
Do employers value employees with different roles or do they prefer one that has focused on building a specific career like building up strong technical knowledge for this particular industry as opposed to multiple industry knowledge but not as strong.
Appreciate your time to read, any advice & guidance.

Good for you, you have the will and the skills to negotiate for higher salary. concurrently don't take the politics at work too seriously and affect your mental health. Changing environment might helps, but not always

Employers value both versatility and specialization, depending on their needs. Since you're adaptable and have experience in various roles, highlight how this makes you a versatile asset.
To reach your income goal, focus on one area (quality, logistics, or data analytics) where you can leverage your experience, and consider upskilling specifically in that field. Remember, showcasing how your diverse background adds value to a specific role is key.
