Hi, i am currently covered under the NTUC incomeshield advantage (no rider) policy with no exclusion. I am currently 37 male, non smoker, non drinker.
i decided to upgrade to Incomeshield Preferred and add a classic care rider to improve my coverage. After going through the underwriting process, NTUC has excluded some conditions mainly discovered during a CT scan (currently just some cysts in the liver, kidney and gallbladder) in 2021.
Specific exclusion: GROWTH / TUMOUR OF THE LIVER; CYST / GROWTH / TUMOUR OF THE KIDNEYS; DISORDERS OF THE GALLBLADDER AND ITS BILIARY DUCTS; DISORDERS OF THE SPINE INCLUDING THE INTERVERTEBRAL DISCS AND SPINAL CORD
These exclusions seem very general and covered all conditions with the organs mentioned. I want to get anyone's advice if i should accept the upgrade with these exclusions and pay a higher premium?

Hi anon, have you followed up with your agent to try to restrict the scope of exclusion? If that is the best they can do then it is really up to you, but the difference between classic and deluxe rider is rather marginal, 10% vs 5% copay and both are capped at $3000, so you only really see the difference in small bills, and the premiums saved should be able to cover the difference easily.
