Hey,just offering my own honest perspective, i'm not paid by the university to do this. But the programs offered at Murdoch are very competitive in terms of their effectiveness for the real world.
β
With regards to how good or 'recognised' they are in terms of a job hunt, i think it's a very subjective thing, subjective because different careers have different criteria to entry and some top tier companies do have a specific school that they go for or a preference for candidates from certain 'top tier universities', unfortunately, Murdoch/ Kaplan is not one of them. So if your goal is to start at a top tier company chances are it's very difficult (tried and tested) unless you have a wealth of relevant and acclaimed internship experience.
β
Murdoch also has a department called MurdochEDGE where they have after-class courses to improve your soft/hard skillset and career advisors to help you fine-tune your resume and offer tips on aceing interviews. They also work with industry partners and a jobs posting board to make the employment process less stressful
β
But my perspective is that the degree is only a piece of paper to get you the job, after that for your 2nd/3rd job, its is more likely that recruiters are looking for relevant experience. So be prepared to start at a small firm and work your way up if your goal is to work in one of the top firms in your industry, acquiring other certifications in the process.
β
Times are bad, and pay wise we should adjust our expectations. Good news is there are lot of firms hiring right now and it shouldn't be hard to find a job if you're open-minded and have a willingness to learn :)
β
Disclaimer: Not paid by Murdoch/Kaplan, Always shop around before making your decision as it's a 2-3 year commitment :)
