Honestly, it does seem quite overconfident and not based on reality. Tesla has a visionary “head chef” in Elon Musk, even if he’s a bit erratic. Tesla also continues to top the most attractive employer rankings in the US, so it has its pick amongst the brightest and best “chefs” to staff its operations. Tesla is also building more “kitchens” to produce its cars in major markets of US, Europe and China, more are likely in the works.

Toyoda also made the following comments:
“There are customers, who are very picky about what they like to eat, sitting in front of us, and eating our dishes already.”

Which seems to say he doesn’t think customer preferences change over time, which is kind of arrogant and will result in complacency. Although some customers like oily food, consumers are increasingly aware of the benefits of cleaner alternatives and are shifting towards such and governments are also starting to ban this unhealthy product

So I wonder if he will one day find that his restaurant was unsustainable and his picky customers have moved on to better food 😂
