Temasek’s portfolio performance has been released! What do you think about how it fared this year?

This year has not been as well. But managing a fund is very different from managing your own investment.

We can choose to hold a lot of cash but being a fund they cannot and this will be a lot tougher.

​

Hopefully their long term investment all will turn out well as they affect how our country gets revenue.

​

I do like their style of diversification.

Purely on how Temasek is structured and remunerated, these performance numbers are unacceptable.

​

If we were investors into the fund with rights to liquidity, I believe a fair number of clients would have been redeeming out of Temasek.

​

Futhermore the FTX debacle showed lack of proper due diligence by the team when selecting underlying holdings.

​

Just to reference performance, the top hedge funds globally all returned positively even in a challenging environment of 2022 which really begs the question of why we are paying top dollars for mediocre managers.
