One of the better stocks and my recommendation to own if you are betting for a turnaround in the oil support industry in Singapore. MTQ is currently generating a positive operating cash flow before changes in working capital,and is close to debt free despite going through 6 years of downturn in the industry. This is an impressive record when many companies have taken debt to survive, been operating with negative cash flow. Its a sign of very good and prudent mangement in MTQ
This was aided by Mgmt's decision to dispose off Neptune Marine which was weighing it down despite being a recent acquisition. CEO quah is a veteran in the offshore support industry, unlike many other companies where the CEO has left the industry to newer pastures (including that of Keppel's). Their industry in supporting oil wells is imporving with the increasing oil prices indicating that drilling oil wells in the shallow waters of South East Asia is becoming profitable again.
