Stock ETF vs stock ETN?

I have a question what is the difference between an ETF and ETN before I purchase it because I am looking at BNKU leverage x3 which comprises 10 US bank.

As far as I know ETN can carry leverage. Other stuff for me to concern before I buy ETN. Thanks!

Hi, I am no expert on ETNs, but they seem to be so much higher risk.

Not to mention the leverage.

If you are not sure what you are getting into, I suggest you stop. Find out more first.

ETN

  • dont hold any underlaying stocks
  • the bank pay the large shareholders note to replica the index (more like bond)

ETF

  • holding the stocks
  • track index by selling / buying underlying stock

If you are US citizen ETN can help save taxes.
ETN subject to market risk & credit risk (like bond)
ETF only subject to market risk.
