Has anyone tried converting their big purchases to a 6-month or 12-month installment? Can you help to share what their fees are?

SC is not publishing the rates on their website aside from the 3 months which has no fees.

Yes. Be careful when you submit your application online. The system is slow. You have to wait a few days before you even get a confirmation. Then it will start billing you in 3/6/12 month instalment, depending on which one you choose. I paid a small amount of $500+ with zero instalment fees. Another amount is about $720+ in 3 instalments and the service fee is less than $2.00.

For the $720+ bill, because of a system glitch, I submitted the application twice and OMG...the hassle I had to go through! From chatting with customer service online, to calling the banks several time and each time a different person picks up and you have to repeat your story, and finally I went to the physical bank in person to chase them to settle the double payment. Even after the visit, it took them 2-3 weeks more to settle it.
β
After this experience, I consider more carefully if I can wait to purchase a big ticket, so I can pay it off, rather than burdening myself with instalments that drag on for months.

The service looks attractive, but when you need customer service, it's so bad and you waste a lot of time trying to get to a real human being to speak to you and handle your case.
