Signing On, still considered as "Iron rice bowl"? Worth it or not?

Hi, recently I went to my Uni Career Fair and interacted with a lot of companies. Among them that caught my interest was the Pubilc Service industry, mainly the Uniform Groups (Army, Navy, Air Force, DIS).

Do you think it is still a good choice to join the Force upon graduating and work in the Force for the benefits:

Degree Holder Salary:

Military Expert 4 - Trainee (equal to a Captian in training): S$2.84K ~ $6.19K

Military Expert 4-1 (Officially start working): S$5.1K ~ S$6.42K

At ages 32, 40, and 50 Y/O, receive 12-month, 8-month, and 8-month bonuses based on rank held at the respective age.

What do you think, for a stable career, working in the Force till 60Y/O, then either retire or transit to a Public Sector role with the help of the Force.

If you are someone that value time and freedom , military isnt the best option. Don't let the money persuade you so fast, unless there are really no other options then I would suggest you to sign on.

While its considered stable job, I think its really important to think it through about signing on, and not for the $$. While $$ can be attractive, the work you do may not be, and of course you are being bounded and have many limitations when you are in the force.

I think its one of the more stable jobs already alr.

For about 5 years is ok, not that bad. if like it then stay all the way, if not get out after first bond ends.

Yes if you like it...
