Sick of the constant discussion about investments, stock markets, BTC and the whole investing to the moon hustle

Recently when I hang out with my friends, all they talk about is their BTC holdings or which stocks are worth looking at. I'm also constantly bombarded by ads on YouTube for investment courses and always see ppl sharing their earnings blah blah online. TBH pretty sick and burnt out to the point that it feels like if I don't do it like everyone else, I'm gonna be a failure. Isn't personal finance supposed to be personal and private? Anyone else feels the same way?

Hi anon, I heard this over a podcast that may to some extent be true.

1) They're trying to sell you something

2) They're highly insecure people who seek public validation to the point of trying to make you feel inferior. These are the same people who will never admit if they've lost money in the market.

Just tell yourself, I'm ok if you're ok. If it really becomes a problem, its time to find better friends. Don't feel like a failure.

Agree thats its personal and understandable if you are burnt out to listening to all these constantly. Try to bring up some other topics from time to time, if its really eating you maybe exclude yourself from the gatherings for a few times. Do what fits you, but i also think that as we move towards our working age, this just happens to be the things we talk about. Because earning and making our money work becomes a big part of our lives and the topics we talk about revolve around that as well. Social media just really amplifies this, as people see news regarding it alot nowsadays so they got more discuss again.

Lol when everybody around you is suddenly an 'investment guru', you know the stock market is in a bubble and gonna crash soon
