Should i get a part-time top-up degree?

Hi all, currently a 26M full time employee with a local diploma cert . I’m thinking of getting a part time degree from a PEI as I feel that in the long run i would be “capped” for roles as I do not have a degree. Careerwise, my current role is quite stable and PT studies would be not be much of an issue.

I’ve looked through and saw that a top-up degree from Kaplan would take 12 months and approximately 15k+. Wondering if anyone has gone through such a route and if it is worth it ?

TIA ! :)

There are certainly some benefits to doing so. A degree can open up new career opportunities and help you stand out from other job applicants. And, of course, it's always good to increase your knowledge base in your field.
But before you commit, there are also a few things to consider. For starters, how much will it cost? Will it be worth the investment in terms of both money and time? How much will you have to sacrifice in order to make this work?

If you're looking to raise your employment income then yes. If for any other reasons other than that, then no.

Tbh.. having a degree cert is really common so it is better that you go for a degree cert to stay relevant.. although now people are saying experience and talents are more important, the paper quality still count in the long run.. would definitely recommend you to get a degree while working...all the best!
