Credit cards should complement your spending, not encourage it.
Instead of canceling, perhaps try to keep track of your monthly expenditure and see how you can optimize your spending. For example, at some places that don't accept credit cards, I use Foodpanda to pre-order and self pickup - it can be cheaper (at some places) and more convenient than just standing in queue!
Otherwise, it won't hurt to keep the card in the drawer for now and ask for a fee waiver when the time comes.
