Should I be going for a plan that uses Smart Meter (Advanced Meter) for my electricity?

My electricity retailer has recently ceased their operations and therefore I am currently looking out for another provider and plan. I'm wondering if using the Smart Meter will really enable me to control my electricity usage and lead to savings? I understand that Smart Plans tend to be more expensive (higher tariff rate) as compared to others. The current promo that I am considering for the Smart Plan is providing FOC Smart Meter instead of paying $40+. Looking forward to hearing from the community.

The meter will have better tracking of your electricity usage and be more accurate as compared to the cumulative meter where it is read every two months.

However you could also submit the cumulative meter readings to SP every month through the app. But you won’t be able to track the usage throughout the day.

So if there is any change in your usage, it is only known after the fact. Whereas for the advanced meter, the usage Is measured every 30mins?
