Short term bonds = lacklustre returns? Is it worth maintaiing in a portfolio?

My returns percentage so far is in the decimal numbers. Is it even worth allocating a place for them in my portfolio?

Or should I just switch my holdings in them to an equity fund(I'm investing through a mutual fund for them)?

How short term is that? Is it like money market fund? i think that is exactly the purpose of money market fund to have lower returns in exchange for liquidity. So you are able to withdraw your funds as and when you need the cash.

Whether to switch to equity or not will probably depends on your holding period, investment objectives.

Just like a lot of people say SGX market is boring. but there are people whose heart cannot take 10-20% flactuation in a day.

of course now equity up 5% a day, everyone can cheer. But when the bear market really comes, will you still have the conviction to buy when everyone is fearful?
