I really struggle to see how this is ‘reasonable’ particularly the quoted figure is for ‘a couple with 2 kids’ aka 4pax?

That said, what’s reasonable to me may not be reasonable to others..

I believe it is always better to compare upwards rather than downwards.

Without such numbers being floated to prompt debate and reflection, people tend anchor to what they experienced. A starting wage of $1800 might be ok ten years ago. Is it really enough now?
