Renting car in California with Avis … is it necessary to get additional insurance for car rental? (I didnt sign up for extra insurance with Avis though… as I have purchased travel insurance with FWD)

Is there any item that I need to look out for specifically in my FWD travel insurance to note the amount / coverage? Thanks!🙏🏻

Cover for excess damage is a must, in case of damages.

also rem to check the car before and after. ive encountered a number of times where i'm being charged for damages not caused by me.
