Renting another HDB for kid’s school.

Hello, I'm still within my HDB MOP period, but intend to register my kid for primary 1 at a school of our choice.

Can we rent another HDB that is within 1km of the school?

Understand that we are not allowed to rent out our HDB as it is still within the MOP period, that is fine, we don't mind leaving it vacant.

Those who already own a HDB flat cannot buy a second property until they meet the five-year MOP. The MOP applies to both new and resale flats in Singapore.

Still, you are allowed to rent another HDB flat within 1km of the school even if you are still within your Minimum Occupation Period (MOP). Its just that, as you mentioned, you are not allowed to rent out your current HDB flat during the MOP, so leaving it vacant might be the only option you have
