Just take a look at your past 2 months of expenses. Its circuit breaker period with no dining out, no social interaction / activities. How much did you save as compared to normal days?
Go through your transaction history for the past 6 months. Before CB and during CB. How have your expenses changed? What can be cut down further? If your expenses did not reduced during CB, means that you are spending alot more on food / food deliveries etc.
Try to save 50% of your income into emergency funds to reach the the minimum 6 months expenses. If can, go for 6 months of income which is even better.
If you are unemployed due to COVID, try to grab any possible job opportunity if possible. Since you mentioned you didnt have enough for 6 months, you should start working ASAP. There are several govt online platforms that you can use to find jobs.
