Read in the news recently that Ikea Singapore is hiring some 200 staff in one of their outlets even though revenue has dropped. Why would they do that?

Maybe because there is always a demand for furniture whether COVID-19 or not?

They have a new outlet in jurong and will need staff. could be paid lesser than normal times, but probably help with its business.
