Pros and Cons of getting a RESALE than apply for a BTO

I am considering of getting a resale flat while waiting for ideal bto location then apply for it.

Currently situation:

  • Planned to get married within next two years

You could consider renting as well before committing to any property purchase if your finances allow you to do so and if you don't intend to grow your family in the near future! It's much easier to rent with just 2 adults anyway.

I too am considering this. You definitely need to take what Andy said into account on top of the fact that you can't sell your resale for 5 years as well. Your BTO chances also technically go down cause you already own a house so BTOs will be given to those that don't have over you dispite the fact that you have not BTO before.

However, in the current environment, if you really want to get a house, there's not much else you can do. At least you have more time to BTO cause you're in no rush to move in.
