Some feel that having hobbies outside of work can be a good sign that people are able to manage their stress levels better and are less likely to put themselves in a position of burn-out.
While others think that, when candidates are asked questions that are unrelated to the position, unconscious bias becomes a factor and hiring teams start making hiring decisions based on bias and not based on qualifications.

I personally feel that if such questions are asked casually, it is fine.
But if the answer then affects the decision making, it's debatable.
