I've been trying to place a purchase order on DBS Vickers but I don't know how to calculate lot size. for e.g. Ishare China is HKD21 today. I'll like to budget ~SGD355 = HKD2100. Does that mean equate to 1 lot as 100 shares? When I fill in 1 lot, an error msg shows "invalid order quantity". Please help.

Quantity field is per share basis.

So if you keyed in 1, that would imply 1 share x HKD 21 = 21 HKD. If you would like to purchase approx HDK2100, you will have to input 100 shares.

HOWEVER

HKEX operates differently whereby the minimum lot sizes differ for each listing and is determined by the company. If you reference the HKEX page (Similar to SGX page): https://www.hkex.com.hk/Market-Data/Securities-... You can see that minimum Lot Size indicated for Ishare China (2801) is 200 shares. Means you'll have to purchase 200 shares x HKD 21 = HKD 4200

You can consider other brokerages like Tiger, MooMoo, WeBull or IBKR which offers lower fees too if you are concerned with brokerage fees.
