Nexo's referral reward is a percentage, not a flat bonus: 0.25% of your average balance over 30 days, paid in NEXO Tokens. So the "up to US$2,500" headline is the cap, and US$5,000 parked for a month earns US$12.50. Here's the short version of how it works and where it goes wrong.

The numbers
Your reward is 0.25% of your 30-day average portfolio balance, counted up to US$1,000,000, with a US$5,000 minimum:
The average is built from a daily snapshot at 00:00 UTC, so when you fund matters. US$5,000 on day 1 and US$150,000 a week later averages about US$120,000, or US$300. It's paid in NEXO Tokens, so the final value moves with the NEXO price.
β
Payout: an average up to US$25,000 is paid in one go within 1 hour of the 30 days ending. Above that it comes in three equal instalments, with two further 30-day holds where your balance can't drop below your average.

Worth knowing
Nexo is a digital asset platform, not a bank, so SDIC deposit insurance doesn't apply, and I couldn't confirm a MAS licence from Nexo's published materials. Crypto can drop sharply, and the reward is small next to the amount you have to commit, so I'd only use money I was already planning to hold in digital assets.
Just sharing what I found in the terms, not financial advice.
