This is possible and I actually work with multiple insurers that provide coverage specifically for cancer (all stages). In detail, some of these plans have a max entry age of 70 years old, and covers you all the way till your 100th year old birthday. Hence, this is something that you are able to explore further.

Despite that, I must inform you that the premium rates (that you are about to pay today) would be higher than that 30 years ago. Additionally, the exact scope of coverage may differ as well. With this in mind, it would be important to conduct a review and discussion to determine whether the coverage is suitable for you.

But nonetheless, yes, it is still possible to get cancer coverage at your current age. I hope this clarifies your question.

Hi Lowell,

Most cancer and critical illness policies have a max. entry age of 55 or 60, so it is unlikely for you to get a similar plan at your current age.

However there is still one way, and that is to get a Great Term plan from Great Eastern and attach a ECI or CI rider to it. The max. entry age for the riders is at age 70. But do also understand that the premium at your current age is going to be very high.

Feel free to contact me (email at bio) if you are interested to find out more.

Cheers.
