Miles Credit Card for Fresh Graduates in 2024

With all the nerfs this year, what's the ideal credit card strategy for a miles-chaser? Been working for 3 months now, with 15k in savings (uni loan paid off) and take home after CPF is $3.5k/month.

Was debating between the DBS Altitude card and Citi Rewards card but the recent AMEX Krisflyer offers look interesting too as I'm planning overseas trips EOY.

Hello, there are quite a few options out there. It depends what is your priority and spendings each month. I would recommend DBS Altitude if you travel frequently. You can also pair this card with DBS multiplier so that is quite convenient. Another option is HSBC Revolution. they do not have annual fee and is also good for online purchases purposes. I found the 10 Best Mile Credit Cards here and compared it easily via the table in the website.

Can start with those 4MPD cards (Citi Rewards, HSBC Revolution, OCBC Rewards (formerly known as Titanium Rewards (Blue and Pink version but discontinued) etc.

Do take note these cards have a max cap of $1,000 ~ $1,111 (UOB Preferred Platinum Visa card) for monthly spending, and keep track of the bonus miles on your next month (just to play safe)

DBS Altitude : 1.2 / 2.1 MPD (no expiry on miles), no cap

Citi Rewards : Up to 4.0 MPD (3 or 4 years expiry on miles earned, check with Citibank on this)

Overseas trips : Depending on location, some card deals might be good (as far as book this month, next month fly off)

Do check out MileLion (www.milelion.com) for more Miles advice (he is an expert on this.

It depends on your spending habits, amount per month etc. But in general, get those welcome bonuses ...
