McDonald's is offering veggie burgers and chicken. But all the research I have done says it's only about 3% of the population. Why the big push from so many directions for such a small market share?

This may be a small market share too but there may be groups of people where only 1 out of x people is vegetarian and these groups may have to avoid McDonald's because of the lack of vegetarian options.

Variety is good as long as they don't drop the quality of their existing menu.
