I have S&P 500 and STI ETFs, looking for a low cost and diversified way to gain exposure in China/HK via ETFs. Do let me know of any recommendations and any costs I should take note, especially the nitty gritty as I'm not sure if there are additional taxes etc. Thanks

If your portfolio base currency is SGD, then you'll understandably have FX exposure depending on which ETF you buy. There are ETFs for both countries listed in HKex and US exchanges.
HKex-listed and traded in HKD:
China: 2823.HK, 2828.HK
HK: 2800.HK
US-listed and traded in USD:
China: FXI, ASHR, MCHI
HK: EWH
Go for the ETFs with bigger market cap, more trading liquidity. https://etfdb.com/etfs/βββ
