Hello. I'm not very sure what you're asking but I'll assume you're asking if you should allocate more to equities or bonds. Generally, 1 year is a short duration for most investments.

Suppose we use the VTI and BND as reference, you can see from the links below that there are good years where the returns were satisfactory for both, and there are bad years where it was below 2% or even negative.

If your principal sum is important to you, you can instead consider putting it in insurance savings plans or endowment plans like Etiqa Gigantiq for a guaranteed 2% p.a. returns. Unless you're okay with not touching your investments for 5-10 years, I would not recommend investing in equities.
