IT show coming up in mid March. I need to buy a laptop. Is it worth going to the show for? I don't really like crowds but if the discounts or perks are good, I will brave it. Or usually shops just have the show discounts separately?

Attending an IT show can be a great way to explore different laptop options and compare prices and features. All major and smaller brands are represented. You might be able to find a good deal on the laptop you're interested in, as IT shows often offer discounts and promotions that are not available outside the event.

However, if you don't like crowds, you might want to consider other options. Many shops and online retailers offer discounts and promotions during the same period as the IT show, so you can still take advantage of the deals without having to deal with the crowds and hassle of the show.
β
To make an informed decision, I would recommend doing some research and comparing prices and promotions from different sources, including the IT show, other retailers, and online stores. This way, you can find the best deal on a laptop that meets your needs and budget.
β
When deciding between retailers, here are some factors to consider. Online retailers offer the most convenience since you can shop from the comfort of your own home and have the laptop delivered to your doorstep. However, visiting a physical shop or attending an IT show allows you to see and touch the laptop before you buy it.
Price is also an important factor to consider. IT shows often offer discounts and promotions that are not available outside of the event, but online retailers may also offer competitive pricing and may even match or beat the prices offered at the IT show.
β
Before making a purchase, be sure to check the warranty and support offered by the retailer. Some retailers may offer extended warranties or additional support services that can be helpful if you experience issues with your laptop down the line.
Online retailers often have a wider selection of laptops to choose from than physical shops or IT shows. If you're looking for a specific make and model, you may have a better chance of finding it online. Lastly, be sure to check the return policy of the retailer you're considering, as some may offer a more generous return policy than others.
β
Overall, I would recommend doing your research and considering all your options before making a decision. This way, you can find the best deal on a laptop that meets your needs and budget, whether you choose to attend an IT show, visit a physical shop, or shop online.

IT Show gives you convenience - e.g. multiple brands and models in one single location. Freebies is equal or more than what large electronic retailers give.
β
Select retailers/vendors that you trust - those that you have confidence will honor the exchange policy, the warranty claims, and provide authentic non-refurbished non-tampered hardware.
β
Note that 3rd party marketplaces (Amazon, Shopee, Ebay) might be using a third party distributor. Aka you might not be interacting with the manufacturer for exchanges, but instead with the third party distributor. I have had such an experience when I got a Razer product on Shopee, and was directed to the 3rd party Razer-Shopee distributor in Tai Seng.
