I just googled minimum income for credit card in SG. Apparently the answer is $30,000.

Sorry ah, my take is that if you have to worry about the minimum income, please reconsider the need for a credit card right now.

Yes, credit card helps build credit score. But loan quantum isn't determined by credit score alone. You can have an AA score but if your income is pittance, how much are you expecting banks to loan you?

If you're thinking about the cashback or rewards on a credit card - let's just say in order to reap a sizeable cashback or miles reward, your spending quantum needs to make sense. You will not get massive rewards by spending $500 a month. You can spend a lot to get more rewards - but with an income of less than $30,000 p.a., how much breathing space do you really have?

I'm sure you're asking these questions from a good place, and it's good that you're thinking about it, but clearly there are more things to consider. Given your situation right now, applying for a credit card is not going to be possible.

Consider increasing your income so that you can hit the minimum income limit for the credit card.
